Bonham’s auction house in London will be the site of a rare view into the world of urban art. The auction, reported by The Independent as a “visual history” features works by such artists as Paul Insect (whose Bullion collection is pictured above), D*Face, Banksy and Adam Neate, will take place in early February.
Their artwork is often referred to as a natural extension of such legends as Basquiat and Keith Haring. Demand and price are often difficult to gage. A prime example of this is Insect’s design for Blur’s Think Tank album called “Space Girl and Bird”. It garnered 20 times the estimate and was purchased for £288,000 earlier this year.
We will probably be hearing more about this auction leading up to and following the event next year. If you have time, do a little ‘googling’ to find more samples of their works.
