Kooks are back, musing on release dates

Standard

The Kooks returned to the road to preview their upcoming Spring release, Konk, only to have their bassist leave the band.  Last night’s show went on anyway with the recruitment of bassist Dan Logan.

The Visitor has some exclusive photos from last night’s gig and NME has posted a mini-review.  The album won’t be available until April so we have some time to wait.  The band are set to play a couple of exclusive gigs stateside in February.

Anyone else getting a bit tired of these drawn out release dates?  Do you remember back when Radiohead announced their digital ‘giveaway’?  The Charlatans announced news of their digital single at the same time…and their album is still not due for another month.

I was reminded that the Charlies’ single “You Cross My Path” was available back in OCTOBER.  Unbelievable that as technology makes the release process faster we have yet to benefit from it.
